Get Another Persective - An Advice Column Inspired by Eleanor Roosevelt

“We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face... we must do that which we think we cannot.” Eleanor Roosevelt

Dear Eleanor
My girlfriend doesn't seem to have time for me.  Is our relatiionship over? Anna

Dear Anna,
Could be yes, could be no.  Ask her.

Dear Eleanor
I have lost my job and am about to lose my house.  What can I do?
John

Dear John
First, pray, meditate, spend time in nature - call on the power of the universe to help you.
Second, focus on eliminating all negative thinking about yourself, your situation, your life.  You have done the best you can to this moment and you have the power to change the situation, but only if you let go of negativity and the past. Self-monitor your thoughts and as you think of something negative, replace it with something positive.
Third, consider the possibility that this situation was designed to help you learn and grow in some way.  Let go of the past and accept that you are in this situation. What can you learn from this?
Fourth, how have you neglected yourself?  Take one step in the other direction.
Fifth, what is one positive thing you can do about the situation.  Do that.
Sixth, ask for help/guidance from people/resources you trust.
Seven, is there someone you can help (not enable, but help - there is a difference)?  Help them.

Dear Eleanor
My boyfriend is pressuring me to have unprotected sex.  Should I?
Tim

Dear Tim
Absolutely not.  Get a new boyfriend.
